THE WOOD

every piece of wood tells a story. where it grew, how long it lived and how well it was nourished. each factor seen in the color and wood grain. we use a select source of local hardwoods including spalted maple, oak, cherry, tiger maple, apple, walnut, butternut and black locust. all wood is sourced from local mills, salvaged or reclaimed boards, logs or previously felled trees.

pieces are hand selected and chosen based on wood grain, size, type of wood, and cut. one of our favorite ways to source wood is to find remnants of old barn boards, beams, doors or tables and give them new life. there is nothing like the rich color of an old painted barn board that has been sanded smooth and waxed to a polished luster.

all of our products are made with natural food safe waxes, plant based oils and/or french polish techniques.
